Career Exploration

First Stop on the Path to a Successful Career

You cannot take a "shot in the dark" when it comes to choosing a career or profession. It is very costly to "guess." Begin your career exploration as soon as possible.

Volunteerism

  • Advocate Children's Hospital Volunteers

I recommend that elementary and high school students earn 50 - 500 hours of volunteerism/service learning. Not only does it show that you can manage your time, it also shows that you are concerned about others.  If your family situation doesn't permit much "free time," to volunteer, create a schedule so that you can always seek some time each year to volunteer in areas for which you are considering a career.
